Dr. Alemayehu Mekonnen
Dr. Alemayehu Mekonnen is a distinguished political scientist and a leading advocate for democratic reforms in Ethiopia. With over two decades of experience in the field of political science and civil society engagement, Dr. Mekonnen has been instrumental in shaping the landscape of electoral observation and voter education in Ethiopia. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Addis Ababa University and has published numerous papers on electoral integrity and democratic governance. As a founding member of CECOE, Dr. Mekonnen has played a pivotal role in coordinating election observation missions and advocating for policy reforms that promote transparency and inclusivity in the electoral process. His dedication to fostering a well-informed and empowered Ethiopian society is reflected in his relentless efforts to engage with stakeholders, conduct research, and provide training to enhance the capabilities of electoral stakeholders.
